It worked on the first try, just that it doesn’t mark the ports correctly (I mean how the original does) and I had to look up the diagram to avoid wrong connections, but otherwise it’s like an original one.

Item as described, must put in dfu mode to upload to device. By holding 0 button and short pressing reset, releasing 0 when it connects in usb. Serial port might need to be changed, then can upload arduino code using wemos s2 mini board template.

I used this board to assemble an automatic dispenser for four channels, and everything went perfectly. The setup was quite simple, and I quickly got the desired result. D1 minis (these are clones) contain the esp8266 chip which is now in electronics terms, old. The minis have very limited connectivity- just 6 digital io pins and 1 analogue pin. But it has wifi as well and you can expand the number of digital pins using either a pcg8574, a serial to parallel chip or any other means. Did i mention that all the digital pins can be used as interrupts? There is an odd default pulling up and pulling down of the gpio pins when they are used as inputs, you need to read the data sheet, and these are not the subject of many internet posts, so you are largely on your own. At a bit more than a pound each they deliver a huge amount of bang for your buck.
