I am not using the remote at all – the lamp senses darkness automatically when day turns to night, and lights up on its own.
Note that it takes a full sunny day of charging. Then it lights up shiny and bright. After a couple of hours, the light gradually starts to wear off, but still supplies good lighting until the late night hours.
