I love this lifejacket simply because it is a type 3 Coast Guard approved. A lot of infant jackets are type two, which aren’t necessarily going to flip your baby in the water to be head facing up. This was the major benefit I was looking for in a life jacket. It fits a little bulky but safety first! My daughter is currently 24 pounds and it allows her lots of room to grow still.

Bought the infant size and child size

We have a very tall, 26.5 lbs 18 month old so we decided to go with the child size because the limit for the infant size was 30lbs. However, he was definitely a little small for the child size, his torso wasn’t quite long enough to sit comfortably with the life jacket on. If he was a little bigger, it would be perfect!! So we decided to get the infant one for now and keep the child one for when he gets older. We just tried out the infant size and it fits perfectly with a little growing room! Both of them are great quality and are designed to keep the head up, whether they can swim or not. The crotch strap is also padded which is so nice. And the color is vivid, we will be able to spot him anywhere. I’m very happy with both of them!

I returned this item because it was really big and we thought my granddaughter would have a hard time with it. So for the one time use we were planning, I went ahead and got one at Walmart that was USCG approved for a lot less. I never took it out of it's package so I can only say, it looks nice and it is pretty big. My almost 2 yr old granddaughter would have been lost in it.
I gave it 4 stars because although I had ordered it due to great reviews, it was not right for my small sized granddaughter. She is smaller than the average 2 yr old.
